BioI'm a writer, editor, & artist interested in myth, folklore, fairy tales and their use in contemporary arts. I direct The Endicott Studio (a nonprofit organization dedicated to Mythic Arts) in partnership with Midori Snyder; and I edit anthologies for various publishers in partnership with Ellen Datlow.
A former New Yorker, I now live in a small arts community on the edge of Dartmoor, in Devon, England, with my husband, Howard Gayton (director of the Ophaboom Theatre Company, based in London and specializing in Commedia dell'Arte). I also help to run a small writers' retreat in Tucson, Arizona.

I admit that my User Pic is a little fey...but there's an excuse for that, because it's actually a portrait of me painted by the English fairy painter Brian Froud. Mind you, it was painted years ago, and I'm more prone to cowboy boots than long silver gowns.
